C40 Reinventing Cities – Rio de Janeiro
Energy Report for Historical Retrofit Tendering
The project consists in a major renovation of the existing historical building “Automóvel Clube do Brasil” in the city Rio de Janeiro. Following the premises of the C40 Reinventing Cities Program and the Sustainable Development Plan of Rio de Janeiro, the project aims to transform the abandoned structure into a reference project that focuses in low carbon impact and sustainable development of the city.
Encobe role was to develop an energy consulting report to describe the best Energy Conservation Measures (ECM’s) for the retrofit of the project. Through the development of an energy model and the analysis of the solutions proposed by the architecture team, Encobe simulated the impact of important measures to reduce the overall energy consumption of the future project and the impact on the greenhouse gas emission after the implementation of the different solutions.
